Debbie from NSW landed a Registered Nurse Role in North Dakota on an E-3 Visa!
We’re honored to have connected Debbie with her job!
“Don’t ever give up. You may not get where you envisioned yourself - but run with the opportunity you’re given”
- Debbie
After nearly a year of searching, Debbie landed a Nursing role in the US, just not where she expected.
She’s from Murwillumbah, NSW and had been dreaming of working in the US since 2000.
Life got busy (three kids will do that) but in 2023 she visited the States again, caught up with an old nursing friend and thought - maybe now’s the time.
So she got to work.
- Obtained her US nursing license and certifications
- Started applying and interviewing
And then came the harder part.
She got multiple job offers but once she mentioned the E-3 visa things stalled.
Again and again the US employers came back with:
“Sorry, we can’t sponsor that visa.”
Which was frustrating because the E-3 is quick, affordable and made just for Australians.
Debbie was close to giving up when we connected.
We shared an opportunity in North Dakota.
It wasn’t the location she pictured, but the employer was warm, welcoming and open to the E-3 visa.
“They couldn’t wait for me to start” she said.
Now Debbie’s officially working as a Registered Nurse in North Dakota!
Her advice?
“Don’t ever give up. You may not get where you envisioned yourself - but run with the opportunity you’re given.”
It was such a joy to help Debbie make her US dream a reality.

For more than 20 years, the E-3 visa has been overshadowed by the H-1B. Yet this treaty-based pathway gives U.S. employers faster, more affordable access to skilled Australian professionals - with 10,500 visas available annually and fewer than half being used. It’s an untapped hiring advantage hiding in plain sight.
