“After a few trips I truly fell in love with LA. I felt like it was a perfect time for a fresh start and change.”
- Maleeka
Maleeka’s interest in moving to Los Angeles started after a few memorable trips. “I truly fell in love with Los Angeles” she shared. She was drawn to the idea of living and working in a new city. Maleeka knew it was time for a fresh start and a new chapter.
She found inspiration in reading the success stories of others who had made the move to the US.
Maleeka advises “Keep the same enthusiasm and energy when applying for your 10th job as you did for your first.” For her staying positive and energetic was key to staying on track. Maleeka emphasizes not letting rejections get you down as each “no” brings you closer to the right “yes”. She also stresses the importance of explaining the E-3 visa clearly and confidently when talking to potential employers.
We’re honored to have supported Maleeka on this journey! She was a student in our Supercharge Your Search online course.
“Amy’s genuine passion showcased in each module and made this otherwise anxious process much easier. Congrats on putting together and providing Aussies with an incredibly insightful and supportive course. I can confidently say that I am in a stronger position than I was prior to the course””
As she settles into her new life in Los Angeles she says she will miss the sound of kookaburras in the morning the most. “The great Australian alarm” as she calls it.
Congratulations Maleeka!
